Photo Gallery | Photos: Kids reacting badly to Santa Claus
Some kids aren't just that into Santa Claus and these parents have the proof. UAB Psychologist Christopher Robinson offers a few tips to help your kids prepare for their visit.
-Santa is like a celebrity to most kids, so understand they may be a little starstruck.
-He may be a familiar face but for a 1 or 2-year-old being handed over to the real deal for pictures can trigger stranger and separation anxiety.
-Let your kids know what to expect of their visit. Be excited as you explain that they'll sit on Santa's lap; ask them what they want to talk to Santa about so they aren't surprised when he converses with them.
-Give your children a view of other children visiting and enjoying their visit with Santa.
-If you step up for your turn and you see that your little one is getting anxious, let a few more kids go ahead to reassure your child that visiting with Santa will be fun.
